Changing Your Contact Information

The primary address on your account is a valid email address that was set to the address you provided when you applied for your Scottrade® account.

To change your account's primary email address:

From within your account, hover over My Account and click My Information & Preferences under the Account Details heading. From the My Information & Preferences page, click Update on the line next to Email, and then enter the email address in the  boxes provided.

Click the Submit button to save changes.

Tip: When you update an email address, Scottrade will send a short message to the updated address. This is an easy way to verify that the change was made correctly.

Changing Your Home or Mailing Address

Your Scottrade® account can have two addresses: Home and Mailing. Both addresses are initially set to the addresses you provided when you applied for your Scottrade® account. Please note that your Home address cannot be a P.O. Box.

Changing Your Home Address

From within your account, hover over My Account and click My Information & Preferences under the Account Details heading. Click on the Contact Information tab, and then click Edit My Contact Information.

Enter the address information in the appropriate boxes in the Home Address section. Click the Save Online Information button to save the changes. Remember, your Home Address cannot be a P.O. Box.

Note: The Scottrade® branch for your account is based off of your home address. If changes in your home address result in a change in your branch, this will be reflected on the Contact Us page.

Changing Your Mailing Address

If the Mailing Address Same As Home Address checkbox is selected, uncheck it. The Mailing Address section is displayed.

Enter the address information in the appropriate boxes in the Mailing Address section. Click the Submit button to save the changes.

Changing Your Phone Number(s)

From within your account, hover over My Account and click on My Information & Preferences under the Account Details heading. Click the Contact Information tab, and then click Edit My Contact Information.

Enter the phone number information in the appropriate boxes. Click the Submit button to save the changes.

Note: Examples of when Scottrade would use your phone number include:

  • When you send an account application by mail, we like to give you a welcome call.
  • When you send us an application or other form and it is missing information, your local branch office may contact you for more information.
