Mutual Fund Research
The Mutual Funds Overview page is designed to help you find in-depth research regarding a particular mutual fund. To get to the Mutual Funds Overview page, hover over Quotes & Research and click Mutual Funds under the Research heading.
To view a list of mutual funds trading without a symbol, hover over Quotes & Research, click Mutual Funds under the Research heading and click Funds Trading without a Symbol on the right, in the Start Your Research section. Mutual funds that trade without a symbol are typically smaller funds and do not trade on any of the major exchanges.
The latest news and commentary for mutual funds is provided under Quotes & Research to help you research new developments in mutual fund investments. To access mutual fund news and headlines, hover over Quotes & Research, then click Mutual Fund News under the News & Commentary heading.
The Mutual Fund Summary page provides detailed performance data and analysis from a variety of sources. To access the Mutual Fund Summary page, hover over Quotes & Research, click Mutual Funds under the Research heading, and then enter a mutual fund symbol in the field on the right. Enter a symbol into the Detailed Quote box in the top right corner of your screen to access the Mutual Fund Summary page from another tab of your account.
Scottrade provides customizable real-time mutual fund charting to help you spot and identify potential trends. Simply click the Charts secondary tab from the Summary page of any mutual fund you are researching. Please see the Charts section under Stocks in the Knowledge Center for detailed information about chart customization and saving your chart settings.
The Mutual Fund Performance page provides charted growth over the last 10 years, total return performance, and a look at the Lipper Peer Scanner for the fund. To access the Performance page, enter a mutual fund symbol in the Detailed Quote box in the top right corner of your screen or on the Mutual Fund Overview page, and go to the Performance tab.
The Portfolio page displays a mutual fund's major holdings and allows you to see the performance of individual holdings. From the Summary page of any mutual fund you are researching, click the Portfolio tab near the top to view portfolio composition.
Mutual fund expenses are charged by the issuing company to cover any maintenance and management required by the fund. Determining the expenses associated with a mutual fund can help investors make decisions about a fund's stability, financial strength and management success.
The Morningstar tab includes information such as Rank Within Category, Score and Ratings Summary, and the Morningstar Style BoxTM. An explanation of each of the tables is included below the table. View the Morningstar Style BoxTM explanation by clicking on the question mark icon next to the title.
Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of mutual fund before investing. A prospectus contains this and other information about the fund and may be obtained online or by contacting Scottrade. The prospectus should be read carefully before investing. A fund’s return and principal may fluctuate, and when redeemed, may be worth more or less than the original purchase price.
