To view option contracts available for a particular stock, enter the underlying symbol in the Detailed Quote box in the top right corner of your account or on the Stocks Summary page and go to the Options tab.
Calls are listed on the left and puts are listed on the right of the Options page. The strike price for each option contract is located in the middle column between puts and calls. You can search for a specific option by selecting the month of expiration from the Expiration Calendar or the month-by-month buttons at the top of your option chain.
The option chain defaults to options that are near the money. You can narrow your search to include only options that are in-the-money, near-the-money or out-of-the-money using the checkboxes above the options table. In-the-money options are displayed in an off-white background, near-the-money options are displayed in green and out-of-the-money options are displayed in white. Hover over any price in the options table to view the Greeks or access the Trade button.
You can easily view a quote, set an alert, add the stock to your watch list or place a trade by using the buttons in the quote toolbar at the top of the page.
Trading From the Option Chain
Clicking the bid or ask price will prompt the appearance of a Trade button. You can also access the Trade button by left-clicking the row of the contract you're interested in. Once you select the Trade button, you'll be sent to the Option Order Entry page and asked to complete your order information.
