One Cancels All (OCA) Orders

To place a One Cancels Other (OCO) or One Cancels All (OCA) order from your Scottrade® account:

  1. Hover over Trade at the top of the page.
  2. Click One Cancels Other/All Order under the Trade Stocks/ETFs heading.

Order 1

  1. Select the Security Type of your first order. You may place a conditional order for a stock, ETF or option.
  2. Select your buy/sell action from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter the number of shares you wish to buy or sell.
  4. Enter your symbol.
  5. Select the type of order you would like to trigger should the specified condition be met. You may select a market, limit, stop-on-quote, stop-limit-on-quote or trailing stop-on-quote order. Enter stop or limit prices or trailing stop-on-quote information as needed.
  6. Select the duration. You may select Day, Good 'til Canceled or Good 'til Date.

Order 2

  1. Select the Security Type of your second order. You may place a conditional order for a stock, ETF or option.
  2. Select your buy/sell action from the drop-down menu.
  3. Next, enter the number of shares you wish to buy or sell.
  4. Enter your symbol.
  5. Select the type of order for the second order.
  6. Select the duration. You may select Day, Good 'til Cancelled or Good 'til Date.

Order 3 (Only use these steps to place a One Cancels All (OCA) Order)

  1. Click Add Another Order to add the third order.
  2. Enter the details of your third order. Follow steps provided for Order 2.
    Click on the Review Order button.

If you would like to add a condition to the first or second order, click the Add Condition link for the corresponding order. Note that you will not be able to add a condition to a stop or stop limit order. If you would like to add another order to the order group to make it a One Cancels All order, click the Add Another Order link at the bottom of the page.

After verifying your order, then click on the Review Order button.

If the condition is met for a particular order, the remaining order will be canceled, only if the order tied to the condition executes.
