The Aroon Oscillator uses the two components of the Aroon Indicator – the Aroon Up line (which measures the strength of an uptrend) and the Aroon down line (which measures the strength of a downtrend). This oscillator subtracts the down line from the up line. Readings above zero are considered to indicate an uptrend, and readings below zero are considered to indicate a downtrend. Traders look for a cross of the zero line as a sign of a potential new emerging trend.
